Hi Noverflow,

I am currently working on a multi-touch gesture library for my diploma thesis. It seems like that would be kind-of an implementation of the interface you're describing here. I have to read more closely what exactly you're suggesting, but it feels good. My approach, too, is to provide a generic intermediate layer between the tracker and a multi-touch application. I have to check with my supervisor about restrictions on publishing my code/work because it's a joint lab with a private company. Other than that, I'd be happy to collaborate with you here.

An Java implementation similar to this has been around for a while now, at Iowa State University's Virtual Reality Applications Center (VRAC). I help with this project, which is located at http://code.google.com/p/sparsh-ui/ We have a google group; please check it out!
